About Us
Helston Street is a mother (Vanessa) & daughter (Lucy) partnership stemming from two creative minds and a passion for all things stylishly vintage, with a heavy dose of dried flowers.
We scour flea markets in the UK and France. We endeavour to find unique, stylish pieces that can be incorporated into many different settings, such as a modern English home or a country farmhouse in France. We focus on a palette of natural earthy materials, such as glass, rustic metals, chippy painted wood and wicker. We love how these textures sit against our dried flowers and freshly planted lavender or rosemary.
Helston Street was founded in 2015 after we decided our homes were full to the rafters with beautiful things, that it was about time we shared our style with other likeminded people. Our name originated from an old street sign we had displayed in the kitchen and has now become a well known aspect of our branding and can be found on display in the shop.
We dry the majority of our Dried flowers all from fresh on a weekly basis, and create all sorts of wonderful creations with them. We have ready made bouquets available in the shop and on our website, or alternatively you can come into the shop and have one created especially for you to match your colour scheme. You're also welcome to bring a particular vase into the shop and we will create a lovely display for it.
We work with lots of local businesses within York supplying beautiful flowers to them such as Robinsons, Restaurant Myse, Roots, York University. We regularly hold wreath making workshops in our lovely shop and create wedding flowers all year round.
